Hong Kong Airport – Passenger Charging Facilities

There are more than 6,700 charging points installed in convenient locations throughout the Hong Kong passenger terminals, such as boarding gates and transfer areas, for passengers to charge their personal electronic devices.

The charging points come in a mix of AC power sockets and TUF-R USB ports. Integrated power brings the convenience of device charging to the passenger, with most seated areas having power included.

Reversible TUF-R Type A Port

TUF-R includes the world’s first reversible Type A port to ensure a first-time connection every time. The USB A connector can be inserted both ways, streamlining the end user’s experience and cutting down on wear or damage from incorrect attempts, maximising the working life of the power module.

Future Proof with TUF-R Replaceable

Fitting PIP with TUF-R modules maximises the investment. TUF-R USB chargers can be upgraded or replaced by anyone using a simple OE tool, without the need to turn off the power or call an electrician.

By upgrading or replacing a user-damaged TUF-R module and not the whole product, TUF-R extends the life of the product, saving time, money and reducing waste.

TUF is safe and designed for public spaces, no data transfer is possible as TUF has no external data connections or the ability to store enough code to put malware on a device.
